The Creative Process Behind Doves, ‘25 on Blank Canvas
Doves, ‘25 on Blank Canvas emerged as a natural and instinctive response from Baskara to the events he experienced and observed toward the end of 2024. The mixtape reflects Hindia’s artistic freedom, blending guitar-driven and electronic elements, interweaving Indonesian and English lyrics. And incorporating or responding to works by other musicians.
The project features collaborations with several acclaimed producers, including Iga Massardi, Lafa Pratomo, Enrico Octaviano, Kareem ‘BAP.’ Soenharjo, Luth ‘Mellonz’ Adianto (Cosmicburp), Adrian Mahendra Putra (Blue Valley Radio), Kusuma ‘Utha’ Widhiana (Blue Valley Radio), Kevin Queency, BF-131131525. “There are a few things I wanted to express to feel a sense of ‘relief to bring closure to many stories that have been told through Hindia’s songs over the past few years. That way, afer this mixtape, when I move on to my third album. I can start that new chapter with a clean slate,” Baskara explained. “Beyond that, I was also deeply stirred by the recent crisis in Indonesia. It felt impossible to remain completely silent on these matters. I had a strong conviction that this project needed to be released now, not sooner, not later. Musically, the entire mixtape was heavily infuenced by the artists I’ve been listening to over the past few months. So, in many ways, everything about this project came together spontaneously.”
Launch Concert in Bali
Hindia’s team, Sepuluh Dua Empat (1024), is partnering with Jabba Connection to present Bali, ‘25 on Blank Canvas. A special launch concert for the mixtape. As the name suggests, the concert will take place in Gianyar, Bali, on March 22. ‘Early Bird’ tickets for Bali, ‘25 on Blank Canvas are available for Rp275,000 (excluding tax) on loket.com until February 27.
